Volunteers,

We are getting very close to our first fall flight on Oct. 16th, 2026 and we need volunteers and Ground Crew for this Flight.

Ground Crew: You will need to be available on Friday Oct 16th at 5:30 am and be able to assist a veteran getting onto the flight. You will also need to be available to return on Saturday at 9:15pm to assist your veteran off the plane. In both cases you will need to get a gate pass at the Southwest Airlines ticket counter and be able to push your veteran in a wheelchair through the airport. Please note you MUST be available both days.

Friday Morning Send Off Volunteers: We will need a few volunteers that can assist with serving breakfast and handing out snacks to the veterans or assisting with check in. We also may need one or two that can assist if needed to bring extra bags to the plane. You will also need to arrive at the Hobby Airport Delta/ JetBlue Check In counter at 5:30am.

Saturday Welcome Home: We welcome all volunteers and guardians that can make this event to join us to Welcome Home this Amazing group of Veterans!!

If you are available for any of these positions for the October Flight please let me know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and service.

Welcome Home Celebration – October 17th, 2026

Join us for a special Welcome Home celebration at Hobby Airport on Saturday, October, 17th at 9:30 PM. If you’re in the Houston area, we invite you to help us give our U.S. Veterans the surprise heartfelt reception they deserve.

This meaningful event honors our heroes as they return from an overnight trip to Washington, D.C., where they visit the memorials built in tribute to their service. We welcome them home with gratitude, energy, and a powerful show of community support.

Bring your friends, family, flags, and patriotic spirit. Wear your red, white, and blue, and come ready to cheer. We’ll gather inside the Departures level near the Delta ticket counters, where volunteers will be available to guide you.

This is a public event, and all are encouraged to attend. Whether you come on your own or as part of a group, your presence helps create an unforgettable experience for our Veterans.

Once you’ve been part of a Welcome Home event, you’ll understand just how impactful a simple gesture of support can be. We look forward to seeing you there and making this a truly memorable evening for those who have given so much.
